About This Project
Every homeowner has different goals.
For this Lakeville homeowner, the goal wasn’t simply lowering his electric bill—it was designing a home energy system that would continue performing when it mattered most.
As an engineer, the homeowner spent months researching equipment, comparing battery technologies, and planning exactly how he wanted his system to operate. He already knew the solar system size he wanted, where the batteries would be installed, and which battery platform best fit his home’s needs.
Our job wasn’t to convince him.
It was to take his vision and build it correctly.
Together, we designed an integrated home energy system centered around long-term performance, reliability, and backup capability.
Why FranklinWH?
The homeowner specifically selected the FranklinWH battery system because of its powerful backup capabilities and advanced energy management features.
One feature that stood out was load shedding.
During a power outage, large motor-driven appliances—such as heat pumps or central air conditioners—can require a significant surge of electricity when they first start. Rather than allowing those startup loads to unnecessarily drain the batteries, FranklinWH gives homeowners the ability to intelligently manage those circuits.
Through the FranklinWH app, homeowners can:
- Prioritize essential loads during an outage
- Temporarily prevent high-demand equipment from starting
- Automatically disable selected circuits when the battery reaches a chosen reserve level
- Customize backup behavior based on their family’s needs
This level of control allows the stored energy to last longer while protecting the home’s most important electrical loads.
Built Around the Homeowner
This project is a perfect example of how no two Future Energy Home™ systems are exactly alike.
Some homeowners prioritize maximum savings.
Others prioritize aesthetics.
For this project, the homeowner’s priority was resilience, intelligent backup power, and complete control over his home’s energy system.
That’s why every project we install begins with understanding the homeowner’s goals—not fitting every home into the same solution.

Future Energy Home™
Projects like this demonstrate what the Future Energy Home™ is all about—bringing together the right technologies to create a home that is more efficient, more resilient, and designed around the people who live in it.
Because the best energy system isn’t the same for every homeowner.
It’s the one that’s designed specifically for yours.
