Frequently asked questions from homeowners
Do I have to pay anything upfront to get a solar quote?
No. Getting a quote and walking through your options is meant to be simple and informational. We’ll confirm next steps with you before anything is scheduled.
How do I know if my house is a good fit for solar?
We start with a site survey and look at roof condition, roof layout, sunlight/shading, and whether the roof has enough usable space with required setbacks. If your home isn’t a good fit, we’ll tell you upfront and work with you to get it ready for solar.
What if my roof is older, or I’m worried about leaks?
We assess the roof early. If it’s too old or likely to cause issues, we may recommend replacing it before moving forward. We also provide roof penetration coverage for leaks that are directly caused by our installation work.
How long does the process usually take from start to install?
Solar has multiple steps: site survey, utility interconnection, engineering design, permitting, then installation scheduling. Our goal is to keep the project moving and stay responsive at every step, so you’re not stuck waiting without updates.
What should I look for when comparing solar quotes from different companies?
Make sure you’re comparing more than price. Ask what equipment is being used, what warranties are included, whether the install team is in-house, and what post-install support looks like if something needs attention later.
What kind of warranties come with the system?
Solar panels and inverters come with 25-year manufacturer warranties, and we register those warranties after installation. We also back our work with a 25-year workmanship warranty.
If something breaks later, who handles it?
If something seems off, you call us. We’ll come out to diagnose the issue, and if it’s a manufacturer warranty item, we handle the warranty process and install the replacement parts.
What if I need an electrical upgrade before going solar?
Some homes need an electrical panel upgrade to support solar. Our team has an in-house electrician, and we’ll walk you through what’s needed before the project moves forward.
How does financing work for an owned system?
If you choose financing, it’s provided through third-party lenders. Approval, rates, and terms vary by lender and your situation. We’ll explain the ownership path clearly so you understand what you’re signing up for.
